Inside the Gym: A Parent’s Guide to What We Do at Sherwood Oaks

Mighty Oaks from Little Acorns Grow

At Sherwood Oaks Gymnastics Academy, we know that stepping into a new environment can feel a little daunting for both children and parents. That’s why we want to give you a peek behind the curtain — so you know exactly what to expect when you join our gym family.

A Warm Welcome at the Door

From the moment you arrive, our friendly team will be there to greet you and your child. Whether it’s your first class or your hundredth, we make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and included.

Tailored Sessions for Every Age & Ability

Our timetable includes Stay & Play sessions for toddlers, recreational classes for school-age children, inclusive SEN sessions, and even adult gymnastics. Each class is designed around fun, progression, and personal growth — all while learning proper form and technique.

Structure Meets Play

Each session includes a blend of warm-ups, apparatus time (like bars, beam, floor, and vault), and skill-building drills tailored to the child’s ability. But we never forget that kids learn best when they’re having fun — so we include games and creative challenges that keep them engaged.

Expert Instructors Who Care

Our instructors are qualified, experienced, and passionate about child development. More importantly, they’re kind, patient, and know how to bring out the best in every gymnast — no matter their starting point.

Communication with Parents

We believe in open communication. You’ll be kept up to date on your child’s progress and upcoming events. Got a question? We’re always happy to chat.

Whether your child is coming to build coordination, grow confidence, or simply burn off some energy — we’re here to help them thrive.

Mighty Oaks from Little Acorns Grow, every gymnast’s journey begins here.
